Sunday schmooze...

As Sunday's go..yesterday was one of my favourite's so far.
It started slowly, with snuggles in bed and breakfast out on the balcony.


Breakfast involved a big pot of tea and sausage sandwiches. We sat out there for ages, chatting away and discussing just how much we love our little home and our little outdoor space. 

We even invited Goblin out for some sunshine and snuggles! Being a rather precious house cat he was pretty nervous and spent about ten minutes sniffing around the door, deciding if he liked the wind in his fur!  



Having him out there with us has made us seriously consider getting him a lead so he can enjoy the balcony in the summer some more. Thoughts? We are only considering this as we are on the fourth floor of our building and would hate to have something happen to him.. being an inside cat he isn't exactly at ease with outside cat behaviours! 



After brekkie I slung on my favourite Sweaty Betty gear and took myself off to yoga with Carly at HPY. We've both been out of action lately and the 60min class that we attended with Jess was divine. Exactly what we both needed. 


Goblin was trying his hardest (as usual) to steal the limelight! 


The rest of the afternoon was spent relaxing at home, catching up with Grey's Anatomy!

A Sacred Home Tour & Spark Yoga tease!

Welcome welcome!
I thought it was about time that I shared with you our little home now it's all finished and ready to be shown off! The last time I shared some snaps of it was way back in January in this post before we had even moved in. We were so grateful that it had been re-painted and freshened up before we arrived so that we had a clean canvas to work with and make it our own.



My love for that fireplace hasn't faltered one tiny bit since we moved in - its still my favourite part of the flat and ever since Ben's mum worked her magic it is looking prettier than ever with those lovely flowers and our lanterns giving a gorgeous glow in the evenings.

Our bedroom is more of the same eclectic mix of colors, furniture and little memories of our four years together. My favourite things have to be the ladder shelves and our bright yellow side table. I adore the pop of color and the contrast with the rug is just divine. We're looking to paint our big mirror in the bedroom yellow too - I've got a bit of a thing for yellow lately!

This is our entryway (a little obvious I know) in which all the other rooms lead from. On the right, tucked in a random little cove we have another set of ladder shelves here to display the rest of our precious nik-naks! 

The blackboard is from Ikea and we mainly use it to write little notes to each other or inspirational quotes that remind us of the magic in life. Occasionally when we have people over it gets completely full of nonsense, which in my eyes is completely magic too. 



And this room right here is my little sanctuary. My yoga space where I connect in, breathe and relax. I love having a dedicated space to practise yoga and teach yoga. One of my intentions this year was to have a space where I can share my love of yoga and now I finally have that I can make these dreams a reality. My Spark Yoga Website will be up and live at the end of the month (finally - life certainly has been busy) and from then on I will be offering private or small group lessons in this sacred space. Bringing a little more yogic mindfulness into my world

A few weeks ago I made the intention to bring a little more yogic mindfulness into my job life and my home life. Because I wasn't able to spend as much time at the studio or on my mat I had to think of ways to bring the calm that I feel on my mat out into my life. The thing is...this is much easier said than done. When I'm on my mat I'm on my mat entirely - I'm completely focused on creating space in my body and my mind. Same goes with meditation - focusing on creating space from my thoughts and being the observer. The rest of life however can be far more challenging; distractions everywhere, energy sappers, the ever present temptation to check out... the list goes on.
As is the way with the Universe, Om Yoga Magazine stepped in and just a few days after making the intention I came across their latest issue with an article aptly titled 'Sneaky Office Yoga'. Three steps to bring some deeper yogic awareness to your desk.

Breathe.

Listen.

Connect.

When I bring myself back to these things, when I strip away all the bull shit and the drama and return to the present moment, I can see the magic in the world. I can see the magic in my life as easy as the light of day.
It's when I am in the past or the future, that I suffer. In this moment I have everything I need. And that is magic my gorgeous friends.

Occupying the space of NOW.

I know it's all I seem to be saying this year but my goodness...what a year so far.

There's quite a lot going on right now and for me to really be present and occupy the NOW then I need to take a step back from a few things, one of them being this space here. My focus is on my family at the moment. Thank you for being understanding. I hope to be back soon.
