Miso soup for the soul...

Today is one of those lovely sunshiney days here in London.
Cold. But definitely sunshiney.
I took full opportunity of this miraculous moment and sat outside to enjoy my lunch with the sun on my face, hoping that I would pick up a tan.
No such luck though as I am still looking like Casper which is such a shame.

(I also spent a fair amount of time on my lunch staring up at the beautiful houses and imagining what it would be like to live in one of them. Not so productive.)

After a weekend filled with burgers, family trips, chocolates, date nights at The Savoy, cakes, museum trips, some alcohol, an Easter egg hunt and more cakes it was a welcome relief to have a little time to rest and enjoy the weather.

But after my wonderful long weekend it would be just my luck that I am getting sick. All the signs are there...sinus pain, runny nose one minute, blocked nose the next, sore throat, swollen glands etc etc.
It's pretty sucky. Inevitable though after hanging out with Sam, Dean and Olivia on Sunday who all had a serious case of the lurgy.
Not. Cool.

On my lunch I decided that I am going to take it REALLY easy this week with lots of baths, restorative yoga, meditation and hot toddy's to keep me well rested and hopefully fend off the worst of it. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Ain't nobody got time for being ill!
Oh and any good hot toddy recipes would be much appreciated...please share away...

  2. Head to Jo and the Juice just up the King's Rd (it's next to Folli Follie). They do wicked fresh juices and should help with some extra vitamins and minerals! The carrot, orange and ginger is brill, as is the pineapple, apple and spinach (trust me). Plus, the guys who make the juice? Zomg. They'll cheer you up, if nothing else!!

    And living in one of those big houses? I miss it. Every. Single. Day :( But some of the most horrible, soulless people I have ever met live in those gorgeous red-bricks, so it's a double edge sword. I'm still coming to terms with the fact I'm never going to live in Chelsea again. I'm not really okay with that, but I guess most people never get the chance so I have been lucky! Plus, parking there is a bitch.

  3. Get some Vit C tablets down your neck girl. It won't stop the lurgy but it will help you kick it into touch sooner rather than later. Yes *holds hands up*, I did overindulge in a HUGE box of Dairy Milk, bought for me by the hubby who had failed to get me an Easter egg and bought me a box of chocs as a way of saying sorry after I told him I couldn't BELIEVE he hadn't thought to get me any chocolate! What a numpty - he did the same thing 3 years ago and I thought he had learnt his lesson then, but obviously not! Hope you get better soon :)

  4. Hot water, honey, lemon juice and good whisky. My dad (a full-blooded Scot) swears by nothing less than a Glenfiddich. Works every time. Echinachea (spelling?) is also fab at revving up your immune system and kicks in pretty sharpish. The occasional green smoothie won't hurt either, if that's your sort of thing.

    I'm right there with ya...I'm on vacation and I'm having the worst cold :( It really does suck.

    Oh and yes - I overindulged on Easter, too...those Argentine sweets are amazing! :D

  6. I've got it bad for London - for real. Seriously, compared to you, our architecture (even the historical) here is simply mundane. That building is gorgeous! I hope you fend off your cold symptoms in a very timely fashion :)
